All Clear Given at Fredericksburg Middle School After Bomb Threat Investigation

FREDERICKSBURG, Texas — Fredericksburg Middle School has been given the all-clear after a reported bomb threat Wednesday prompted a sweep of the campus by an explosive detection K-9 team.

An ATF and Texas DPS K-9 unit swept the school and found no credible threat, the Fredericksburg Police Department said in a 2:17 p.m. update. School operations are resuming as normal.

Police first announced Wednesday that they were assisting the middle school and Fredericksburg ISD in response to the reported threat. Officers and school officials investigated, and the department asked parents and community members to stay away from the campus and surrounding area while first responders worked.

"No credible threat has been identified," police said. "The safety of students and staff remains our highest priority, and we appreciate the swift response and cooperation of all agencies involved."

The department thanked students, staff, parents and community members for their patience during the incident, and extended its appreciation to responding law enforcement, emergency responders and the K-9 team.
